When I was in high school, I started tutoring junior high school students in math and English. I continued to tutor students of this age and older in these subjects; (I tutored an adult refugee from Liberia) throughout my undergraduate career, and I continue to do so while I attend graduate school, which I begin fall 2008. I have a BA degree in International Studies-my concentration was/is US-African social, political, and economic relations. In particular, I am interested in working with refugees, asylees, and exiles from Africa who now reside in the US. I am concerned with providing these persons with the resources they need (emphasis on education) to function within US culture and society. I have a vested interest in using my skills and resources to help other succeed in their own personal educational endeavors. I truly believe that success of the US, and extension success of the world is contingent upon its people pooling its resources, and using them collectively to make the world a better place.
